Lynn E. Gulley, 81, of Tuscola, IL, formerly of Atwood, IL, passed away at 5:10 a.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana, IL after a short battle with cancer.

Lynn was born on March 29, 1932 in Tompkinsville, KY, the son of Sam and Minerva Tuner Gulley. He married Jacqueline Regina Wollums McKean on January 5, 1970. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2004.

Survivors include one sister: Betty Myers of Urbana, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers: Ray, Rue, Dan, Don, Freeman and Dale and two sisters: Virginia Mulvaney and Janice Davis.

He graduated from Atwood-Hammond High School in 1952. Lynn served two tours of duty in the U.S. Army from September 1952 thru August 1954 and March 1956 thru March 1959. Lynn retired from Bridgestone-Firestone in Decatur, IL in 1994 after 32 years. For the past seven years, Lynn enjoyed living at the Jarman Center in Tuscola with the special friends he made there which included the dedicated and caring staff.

Military Graveside Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL. Arrangements were completed by the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.
