Lowell E. Dallas, 87, of Tuscola, IL, died 1:56 AM, Thursday, July 27, 2006 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 29, 2006 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main St., Tuscola, IL,with Rev. Ralph Deal officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL with military rites.

Mr. Dallas was born September 19, 1918 in Sims, IL the son of Louie A. and Laura Myrtle Linder Dallas. He married Viola B. Underwood on January 20, 1951 in Tuscola, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include: 1 Son: Gary Dallas of Tuscola, IL; 1 Daughter: Debbie Horath and David of Tuscola, IL; 1 Brother: Eugene Dallas of Tuscola, IL; 3 Sisters: Mary Ellen Redden of Sandwich, IL; Sarah Porter of Sparta, IL; Marlys Fidler of Hindsboro, IL; 2 Grandchildren: Eric Horath and Crystal Dann; and 6 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, 4 Brothers, and 3 Sisters.

Mr. Dallas formerly farmed in the Tuscola area and retired from Schrock Cabinet Factory in Arthur, IL. He was US Army World War II Veteran, he served in Italy and North Africa, and he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ, Tuscola Senior Citizen's and the Tuscola Warrior VFW Post #10009. Mr. Dallas was an avid fisherman and liked to do word puzzles.
