Louise Rigg, 86, of rural Lovington, died at 2:16 AM Monday, April 11, 2016 at Sullivan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S.Vine Street, Arthur, with D.J. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
Louise was born March 28, 1930 in Hominy, Oklahoma, the daughter of Bert and Catherine "Kate" Russell Blower. She married Ralph Rigg on August 14, 1949 in Arthur; he preceded her in death on November 7, 2013.
Survivors include 2 children, Kay (John) Rawdin of Atwood; Larry (Penny) Rigg of Decatur; 3 grandchildren, Michelle (Greg) Owczarzak of Dyer, Indiana; Todd (Kristi) Rigg of Mt. Zion; Heather (Jim) Winkleblack of Mattoon; 7 great grandchildren, Alyson Winkleblack; Lucas Kearney; Drew Owczarzak; KaitlynWinkleblack; Ty Owczarzak; Ava and Anna Rigg; and special family friend, Lorene Chupp. She was preceded in death by sister, Jewel Dorjahn; and brother, Dean Ziegler.
Louise graduated from Arthur High School in 1949. She married her high school sweetheart, Ralph, and enjoyed 64 years together on their farm outside of Lovington. She enjoyed camping, painting, cooking, gardening, animals, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Louise was a member of the Hammond United Methodist Church.
