Louis Deckard, 89, of Galton, died at 7:10 AM Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Arcola Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2011 at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola. Visitation will be held from noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home. A committal service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Neal Cemetery in Flippen, Kentucky.
Louis was born March 24, 1922 in Lafayette, Tennessee, the son of James Franklin and Mandy Cook Deckard.
Survivors include 2 sisters, Jean Cook of Tolono; Edna Williams of Dugger, Indiana; niece, Sue Hicks and great niece Ann Long both of Glasgow, Kentucky; stepson, Bill Brazzell of Tuscola; 3 step-grandchildren, Bailey Brazzell of Houston, Texas; Delanie Brazzell of Tuscola; and Kelsey Rahn of Tuscola.
Louis farmed all of his life and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
