Loretta Curry Vaughan, 93, of Atwood, passed away at 2:38 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Hewitt Cemetery, rural Lovington, IL with Dr. Lanny Faulkner officiating. No visitation will be held.

Loretta was born on January 24, 1931 in Lintner, IL, the daughter of Earl J. and Reba F. Mock Curry. She married Charles W. Ayres on March 17, 1949 and later married Loran O. Vaughan on February 6, 1981. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2011.

Survivors include her daughter: Marsha Ayres Burgener and husband: Robert of Hammond, IL, son: Randy Ayres and wife Charlotte of Boulder City, NV, grandchildren: Marcia (Robert) Bernas, Amanda (Jared) Crowe, Megan (Mikie) Stirrett, Jennifer Miller and Julie Slocum, great-grandchildren: Riley Bernas, Braden Bernas, Charlee Bernas, Graysen Crowe, Maddix Stirrett, Mace Stirrett, Maelee Stirrett, Sarah Miller, Isabelle Slocum and Evelyn Slocum.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: John T. Curry and Patrick H. Curry.

Loretta formerly worked as a school bus driver in Tuscola and Atwood. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Atwood and was a member of the James Reeder American Legion Post #770 Auxiliary.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Atwood.
