Lois Marie Price, 92, of Atwood, IL, died on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur IL.

Lois was born the daughter of Alva and Lillian (Toney) Hite in rural Coles County on June 19, 1925. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one half-sister, one daughter in-law, one grandson and one great-great grandson. She married Leo Price on June 3rd, 1942.

She is survived by one sister, Jean Price of Bement, seven sons and two daughters. Ron Price of Bement, Larry (Kathy) Price of Lovington, Evelyn Dubree of Tompkinsville, KY., Richard Price of Ash Flat, AR., Jim Price of La Place, Mick (Betty) Price of Atwood, Dave (Sue) Price of Atwood, Steve (Sheila) Price of Atwood and Susan (Chuck) Benner of Tuscola. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.

Lois was a loving mother who made countless sacrifices during her lifetime for the benefit of her children. Having raised nine kids by herself she looked forward to Sundays and holidays when they would come home to visit. While she loved to visit with family and friends, her favorite pastime however, was reading. She would sometimes check out five or ten books at a time from the Atwood library. She also enjoyed finding a bargain at the rummage sales in town. As much as the bargain, she enjoyed talking to those she met along the way in search of that bargain.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday Nov. 28, 2017 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home in Atwood with internment at the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday Nov. 27, 2017 at the funeral home.

She worked for several years in the housekeeping field and later baked doughnuts at Casey's.

The family suggests that memorials may be made in her name to the Atwood-Hammond Public Library and the Arthur Lions Club.
