Obituary

Lois E. Kerns Marsh, 99, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 5:38 pm, Sunday, April 24, 2011 at her residence.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Tuscola United Methodist Church, 901 N. Prairie Street, Tuscola with the Rev. Patty Johansen officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until time of services on Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.
Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL is handling the arrangements.

Lois was born on August 13, 1911 in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Frank and Golda Fetherolf Weatherford. She married Everett W. Kerns on February 15, 1935 in Hoopeston, IL. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1966. She then married Curtis C. Marsh on June 6, 1976 in Tuscola, IL. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1989.

Survivors include her step-son: Rick Marsh and wife: Sharon and family of Tuscola, IL, two grandsons: James Kerns and wife: Debbie of Denver, CO, Todd Kerns and wife: Kristine of Tuscola, IL, one granddaughter: Angela Gervais and husband: Eric of Bradenton, FL, 8 great-grandchildren: Calvin, Chloe, Chandler, Cordale, Callan, Brian, Brody and Alira.

She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law: Dale and Barbara McCumber Kerns and a brother: Frank "Cappy" Weatherford, Jr.

She graduated from Tuscola Community High School in 1929 and attended Brown's Business College in Decatur, IL. Lois was employed by the Tuscola National Bank for 35 years.
She was a fifty year member and past matron of the Tuscola Chapter Order of the Eastern Star #49. Lois was a member of the Tuscola United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and Bible Study Leader. She was a member of the Tuscola Woman's Club and the Douglas County Museum Association.

She was an avid bridge and solitaire card player. She was an awesome cook and noodle maker. Lois loved working crossword puzzles and she enjoyed working on the history of Tuscola.

Memorials are suggested to the TUMC Youth Mission Trip, Provena Covenant Hospice Unit or donor's choice.
