Lois E. Henderson, 84, of Pierson Station, IL, passed away at 4:50 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, IL

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of services on Saturday. Burial will be in the Hammond Cemetery, Hammond, IL.

Lois was born October 10, 1931 in Bogota, IL the daughter of Clifford and Dansel Galloway Stanley. She married the love of her life William "Bill" Henderson November 6, 1948 in Hammond, IL. They raised eight children of their own and touched the lives of many other children thru foster parenting, serving as house parents at Carmi Baptist Children's Home and as substitute house parents and grandparents at New Mexico Boy's Ranch. Together they shared their love of God thru pastoring various churches in Illinois and Alaska and helping those in need by being part of the Illinois Disaster Relief Team. They enjoyed traveling and shared many adventures. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time laughing with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, children, Dansel (Blaine) Buxton, Mt. Zion, IL; Billie (Don) Hollingsead, Greenfield, IL; Stanley (Brenda) Henderson, New London, MO; LaNeva (Michael) Nugent, Tomball, TX; Harold Henderson, St. Louis, MO; Beth (Michael) Ramsey, Arthur, IL; Mark (Julie) Henderson, Pittsfield, IL; Philip (Jennifer) Henderson, Albuquerque, NM; 23 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, 1 brother and 4 sisters.

She was preceded in death by 1 son, Albert, 2 granddaughters and 3 brothers.
