Lloyd E. Dunwoodie, 87, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 4:41 a.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 14, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Bob Williams officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded.
Lloyd was born on December 17, 1928 in Champaign County, IL, the son of C.J. and Rozean E. Brewer Dunwoodie. He married Oval E. Basham on March 6, 1951 in Urbana, IL. He and his wife just recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Survivors include his loving wife: Oval, daughters: Debbie Yates of South Beloit, IL and Patty McDaniels and husband: Walter of Meredosia, IL, grandchildren: Nichole (David) Anderson of South Beloit, Daniel Yates of Phoenix, Cassie (Andy) Walker and Heidi McDaniels both of Meredosia. Great-grandchildren: Lillian & Jackson Yates, Tommy Walker, 2 sisters: Doris Conner of Danville, IL and Elizabeth Flenniken of Troy, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908
Lloyd worked as a natural gas distribution operator for Illinois Power Company for 40 years, retiring in 1989. He served his country as a member of US Army during the Korean War.
Lloyd was a loving father and grandfather. He loved to fish, garden and spend time with his family.
