Linda (Newlin) Wright, 76, of Tuscola, died Tuesday April 13, 2010 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

Born in Farmington MO on April 28, 1933, Linda was the daughter of Dr. Harold B. and Martha Elizabeth (Jones) Newlin. She was raised in Paris, Illinois, attended ISU in Normal IL and married Rex M. Wright on October 19, 1952. He survives. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Walter Lindsey Newlin.

Linda had a passion for gardening, bird watching, reading, quilting, doll making, crocheting, camping, square dancing and (tole and canvas) painting. She also bred German Shepherds and Pembroke Welsh Corgi's.

Loved ones left behind are her husband, Rex; two sisters, Shirley Swopes of Sterling, IL and Janet (Ron) Doris of Paris, IL; three daughters, Marcia Knox of Clinton, IL, Kathy (Lou) Rhodes of Tuscola, IL, and Susan Willmore of Clinton, IL. Grandchildren include Chuck (Stacy) Knox of Oakland, IL, Nicole (Darren) Hite of Charleston, IL, David (Beth) Spear of Arcola, IL, Jerusha Knox of Clinton, Michael Mattix of Lexington, KY, Christopher (Lori) Mattix of Maryland Heights, MO, Tara (Josh) Bethel of Evansville, IN and Lora Willmore of Kissimmee, FL. Linda had 13 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Tuscola Community Foundation in memory of Linda K. Wright.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the St. Omer Cemetery, rural Ashmore, IL. No Visitation will be held. Memorial Services celebrating her life will be held at a later date. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola, IL is handling the arrangements.
