Lewis Henry Elkin, 73, of Tuscola, IL, formerly of Indiana, PA, passed away at 9:00 am, Saturday, August 28, 2010 at his residence.
The family will be traveling through the Labor Day Weekend for funeral services that will be held in Indiana, PA
Lewis was born on November 1, 1936 in South Mahoning Twp, PA, the son of John and LaRue Good Elkin. He married Janice M. McCormick on October 29, 1960 in Indiana, PA, She survives.
Other survivors include his daughter: Tami Moyer and husband: Mike of Tuscola, IL, 3 granddaughters: Kylie, Caylen and Kyra, 3 sisters: Mildred Brady of Smicksburg, PA, Bernice Rankin of Saxonburg, PA, Bulah Waltemire of Bedford, PA, several nieces and nephews.
He preceded in death by his son, parents and 5 brothers.
He retired to Illinois in 2004 to be near his family. Mr. Elkin was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He enjoyed going to hunting camps with his friends and family in Potter County, PA. For all who knew him, he will be remembered by his love of life, his kind gentle smile, and his playful sense of humor.
