Obituary
Lester "Pete" A. Peterson, 95, of Arthur, died at 5:45 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Arthur Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Church Cemetery, rural Arthur. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Lester was born November 26, 1918 in Manteno, the son of John C. and Alma Rennewanz Peterson. He was united in marriage to Virginia McGee in Valparaiso, Indiana on October 19, 1946; she preceded him in death on October 12, 2001.
Survivors include his daughter, Pam (Jim) Sisco of Ivesdale; 2 sons, Lonny (Patti) Peterson of Arthur; Steve (Debbie) Peterson of Arthur; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and two great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ and was a retired farmer and auto mechanic. He loved fishing, camping, and raising turnips in his garden.
