Lela F. Terril, 83, of Atwood, IL, died at 9:30 AM, Sunday, January 29, 2006 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, February 2, 2006 at the United Church of Atwood, 210 North Main Street, Atwood, IL, with the Rev. Veronica Don officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Burial will be in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL
Mrs. Terril was born on May 1, 1922 in Arcola, IL, the daughter of Clarence F. and Minnie C. Womack Fitzgerald. She married John N. Terril, Sr. on February 24, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2000.
Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Sharon Parsano and husband: Gerald of Atwood, IL, 3 Sons: John Terril, Jr. and wife; Kathy of Atwood, IL, Denny Terril and wife: Linda of Atwood, IL, Michael Terril of Atwood, IL, 1 Sister: Barbara Allen of Longmont, CO, 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 Brothers, 1 Great-Granddaughter

Mrs. Terril was a homemaker and she was a former nurse's aid at the Jarman Memorial Hospital, Tuscola, IL. She was a 1940 Graduate of Arcola High School. She was a member of the United Church of Atwood. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the ladies quilting group at the church. She was a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, where she served as Past Worthy Matron four times. She was a 50 year member of the James Reeder American Legion Post #770 Auxillary. She was a member of the Piatt County Farm Bureau and the Douglas County Poets Club. She was also a Peace Meal Volunteer. She enjoyed writing poetry and had a book of poems published in December 2003 entitled: The Writings of a Lady.
