Lauvon Vernice Smith, 93, of Atwood, IL, passed away at 3:50 am, Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm, Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL, with the Rev. Duane Piercy officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL
Mrs. Smith was born on September 23, 1916 in Edgewood, IL, the daughter of Elza and Goldie Edwards Snyder. She married Ebert Carl Smith on March 14, 1936 in Arthur, IL. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2000.
Survivors include her daughters: Joyce Jones of Tuscola, IL, Betty Blackford of Villa Grove, IL, Jean Rodgers of Freeport, IL, Brenda Moran of Atwood, IL, 7 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a daughter, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
Memorials are suggested to the Tuscola Health Care Center
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She was a member of the Atwood Christian Church and the Tuscola Moose Lodge.
