Obituary
Larry Grant Young, 71, of Mattoon, formerly of Arcola, died at 10:50 PM Friday, January 31, 2014 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola, with Rev. Don Winch and Rev. Ralph Sykes officiating. Burial will follow in the Humboldt Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Larry was born October 8, 1942 in Humboldt, the son of Ulysses Grant "Bud" and Charline Starwalt Young.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Janet Cole of Springfield; special friend of 46 years, Cathy Curl of Mattoon; 3 aunts, Mary Grooms of Sullivan; Hettie Reece of Mattoon; Alice Speck of Jackson, Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.
Larry was a graduate of the Arcola High School Class of 1960 and also Lakeland College of Electronics. He operated an office machine business for 50 years. He loved riding motorcycles and rode with Gold Wing Riders, Valkyrie Hondas, and the Rusty Zippers.
Larry served in the Army National Guard of Illinois for three years.
