Larry D. Payton, 68, of Tuscola, IL, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with the Rev. Duane Oakley officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with an 8 p.m. Moose Service on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Newman Cemetery, Newman, IL
Larry was born on May 4, 1944 in Newman, IL, the son of John D. and Marcia Turpin Payton. He married Rita J. Goodwin in 1985 in Las Vegas, NV. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2009.
Survivors include his daughter: Carmen Goodwin of Tuscola, IL, brothers: Terry and Carroll Payton both of Newman, IL, sister: Jeanette Edwards of Newman, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Tony Payton, sister: Ruth Ann Blaney and newphew: Tony Edwards
Larry retired from Iron Workers Union #380, Champaign, IL, where he worked for 44 years. He was a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge. Larry was diehard Chicago Cubs fan and Chicago Bears fan. He liked to hunt and fish.
