Larry D. Nees, 72, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 9:56 pm, Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm, on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Mattoon, IL
Larry was born on January 7, 1938 in Charleston, IL, the son of Carl B. and Pearl Wright Nees. He married Janell Reel on April 12, 1964 in Charleston, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include his son: Jim Nees of Tuscola, sisters: Joan Dennison and Karen (David) Wilson both of Vero Beach, FL, several nieces and nephews, his favorite dogs: Coca and Blackie
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Jerry Nees and sister: Pat Nees
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society
Larry was the parts and service manager for 25 years at Ferguson Motor Sales in Tuscola. He was the parts manager for Tuscola Auto Supply for 15 years. He volunteered his time helping with the Tuscola Little League, Boy Scouts, Douglas County Museum and Tuscola First Christian Church. He was a member of the Douglas County Model Railroaders. Larry loved helping his friends.
