Lavina Elizabeth "Liz" Flenniken, 83, formerly of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 3:45 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Calhoun Nursing and Rehab Center, Hardin, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rice Cemetery, rural Sadorus, IL

Liz was born on April 9, 1933 in rural Champaign County, IL, the daughter of C.J. and Rozean E. Brewer Dunwoodie. She married Clarence William "Bill" Flenniken on September 21, 1950 in Bement, IL. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2006.

Survivors include her son: Nick Flenniken and wife: Maurine of Tuscola, IL, Kim Flenniken and partner: Cathy Wikoff of Alton, IL, 5 grandchildren: Nicholas (Kacie) Flenniken, Danielle (Josh) Stabler, Betsi (Tony) Cooley, Tyler Flenniken-Wikoff, Bryan Flenniken-Wikoff, 4 great-grandchildren: Ethan & Dylan Cooley, Devin Stabler and Kora Flenniken.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Lloyd Dunwoodie and sister: Doris Conner.

Liz worked as a cook at North Ward Grade School in Tuscola for 35 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Tuscola First Christian Church. Liz enjoyed crocheting. She and her husband formerly farmed in the Sadorus area for many years prior to retiring to Tuscola.

Liz was a very loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her loving family.

Memorials are suggested to the Tuscola First Christian Church or Calhoun Nursing and Rehab Center.
