Obituary
L. Eugene "Gene" Dallas, 80, of Tuscola, IL died at 11:30 PM Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Newman Rehab and Health Care Center, Newman, IL
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 S. Main St., Tuscola, IL with Rev. Jerry Silver officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cartwright Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL with military graveside rites accorded.
Mr. Dallas was born on December 28, 1928 in Sims, IL, the son of Louie Andrew and Laura Linder Dallas. He married Velma D. Green on March 22, 1946 in Garrett, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include: 2 Sons: Wayne Dallas of Bethany, IL; Roger Dallas of Tuscola, IL; 3 Sisters: Sarah Nancy Porter of Sparta, IL; Mary Ellen Redden of Sandwich, IL; Marlys Fidler of Hindsboro, IL; 3 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, 5 Brothers and 3 Sisters.
Gene was a World War II Veteran serving in the United State Navy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tuscola. Gene was a retired newspaper printer.
