Obituary
Kevin J. Kappes, 61, of Tuscola, IL, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 at his residence.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola, IL, with Father Delix Michel as celebrant. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the mass at the church. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, rural Pesotum, IL
Kevin was born on September 15, 1953 in Tuscola, IL, the son of John J. and Irene E. Kocher Kappes.
Survivors include his brothers: Maynard Kappes of Tuscola, Gary Kappes and wife: Becky of Tuscola, Norbert Kappes and wife: Mary Jo of Yukon, OK and Dennis Kappes and wife: Jane of Tuscola, sister: Kathleen White and husband: Doug of Villa Grove and twin sister: Karen Brian and husband: Mike of Tuscola, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother: Kenneth L. Kappes.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society
Kevin has worked at Kraft Foods in Champaign, IL as a fork lift operator for over 40 years. He was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church and he graduated in 1971 from Tuscola Community High School. Kevin loved being around the family farm and has served as the caretaker for his mother the past 2 years.
