Kenneth L. Kappes, 60, of Tuscola, passed away at 5:50 pm, Monday, February 22, 2010 at the Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, Tuscola, IL with Father Barry Harmmon as celebrant.A Vigil Service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola, IL, with visitation following from 5 to 8 pm. Burial with military graveside rites will be held at the St. Mary's Cemetery, rural Pesotum, IL.
Kenneth was born on October 31, 1949 in Tuscola, IL, the son of John J. and Irene E. Kocher Kappes.
Survivors include his mother: Irene Kappes of Tuscola, Son: Kyle Kappes and wife: Colleen of St. Joseph, IL, Daughter: Heather Miller and husband: Michael of Princeton, IL, Grandchildren: Jacob Miller, Catherine Miller, Sophia Miller, Luke Kappes and Matthew Kappes, Brothers: Maynard Kappes of Arcola, Gary Kappes and wife: Becky of Tuscola, Norbert Kappes and wife: Mary Jo of Yukon, OK, Dennis Kappes and wife: Jane of Tuscola, Kevin Kappes of Tuscola, Sisters: Kathleen White and husband: Doug of Villa Grove, Karen Brian and husband: Mike of Tuscola, Many Nieces and Nephews.
Memorials to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,
Kenny was a production technician for Cargill in Tuscola, where he worked for 35 years. He was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Kenny was a 1967 graduate of Tuscola Community High School and a graduate of Wabash Valley College.
