Kelly Gale Castleman-Staley, 53, of Carbondale, IL (formerly of Decatur, IL), died Friday, June 27, 2025 at Liberty Village, Carbondale, IL.

Kelly was born February 9, 1972 in Decatur, daughter of Richard and Frances (Luck) Castleman. During her youth, she was active in Decatur YMCA Gymnastics team for many years.  Kelly graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1990 where she was a cheerleader and member of the pom squad.  She attended the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.

Kelly was an active promoter of Arabesque Dance Studio in Carbondale where she was always present backstage to mend, adjust and champion all the dancers.  In addition, Kelly was an avid supporter of the Southern Illinois Gymnastics team.  Her upbeat attitude and her infectious giggle will be missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be forthcoming in Carbondale, IL.  Graveside services will be held 11 am, Friday, July 25th in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.

Survivors include her daughter Sydnie Staley of Carbondale, mother and stepfather, Fran & Gary Ellis of Ivesdale, IL; cousins: Connie (Edwards) Ormiston of Paris, IL; Craig Edwards of North Carolina; Chris Edwards of Pennsylvania; Ginger (Luck) Denton of Atwood, IL and ex-husband, Charles Staley of Ft Myers, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Logan; aunt & uncle, Brenda (Luck) and Boyd Edwards, uncle, C. Gale Luck and grandparents, Charles & Bernice Luck.
