Katherine Sue Montoya, 58, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Memorial Hospital North, Colorado Springs, CO.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012 with Dr. Lanny Faulkner officiating at the First Baptist Church of Atwood, 231 N. Illinois St. Atwood, IL 61913. Burial of ashes will be at a later date.

Kathy was born August 10, 1954 the daughter of James L. "Pete" and Ellouise Welborn. She married David Michael Montoya December 18, 1999. He survives.

She is also survived by her son: Jeremy John Donnals of Mahomet, IL; daughter: Jamie Rhea Gady of Tolono, IL; her brothers and sisters: Charlotte (Bill) Kleiss of Tuscola, IL; Jeryl (Jim) Ploeger of Champaign, IL; Mike (Cassie) Welborn of Orlando, FL; Rick (Cathy) Welborn of Ashmore, IL; Sylvia (Mark) Mize of Champaign, IL; Alice (Gary) Howard of May, TX; Ted (Betsy) Montoya of Rio Rancho, NM; Eugene (Elizabeth) Montoya of Jemez Pueblo, NM; Kathy Montoya of Canon, NM; father-in-law: Antonio (papa) Montoya; 3 grandchildren: Alexis Rae, Justin Charles and Brianna Sue, several nieces and nephews and 2 beloved cats.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, infant son: Nathan Montoya; mother-in-law: Senaida Montoya.

Kathy loved spending time in the outdoors working in her gardens, feeding the birds and animals, painting and decorating, singing and music. Helping others was her ministry in life.

In lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Kathy may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund 231 N. Illinois St. Atwood, IL 61913.
