Karen S. Wicker, 78, of Decatur, IL, formerly of Atwood, passed away at 2:55 p.m., Sunday, February 4, 2018 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL, due to complications from recent lung surgery.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 231 North Illinois Street, Atwood, IL with Dr. Lanny Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow in the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the church.
Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL is entrusted with the arrangements.
Karen was born on September 15, 1939 in Atwood, IL, the daughter of George and Mildred L. Davis Mayfield. She married Gene Robinson. He preceded her in death. She married R. Fred "Fritz" Wicker on January 24, 1975 in Atwood, IL. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2017.
Survivors include her daughters: Dawna Ulbricht of Atwood and Michelle (Jimmy) Steven of Tuscola, 3 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson to arrive soon, step-daughters: Tammy (George) Burns of Decatur, Candy (Mike) Loyd of Mansfield and Amy (Neil) Kane of Michigan, 8 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren, nephew: Ronnie Mayfield of Oakland and niece: Lee Ann (Jim) McCue of Charlotte, NC.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and brother: Gary Mayfield.
She was a retired bookkeeper. Karen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atwood.
She and her husband enjoyed traveling in their motor home, fishing, boating and spending time with her many family members.
The family would like to thank her friends at Albany Place for their encouragement during the loss of her husband and recent cancer treatment.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Atwood.
