Karen Sue Waldrop, 54, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 8:54 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Officiant John Skillings and Rev. Ralph Deal officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL

Karen was born on January 22, 1959 in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Marvin and Janet Compton Branch, Jr. She married John M. Waldrop on October 8, 1977 at Tuscola, IL. He survives.

Other survivors include her mother of Tuscola, children: Matthew Waldrop and wife: Terra of Springfield, IL, Jessica Quinn and husband: Tyler of Tuscola, IL, grandchildren: Trey Waldrop, Elizabeth and Madeline Quinn, brother: Tom Branch of Tuscola, sister: Denise Groves and husband: Fred of Tuscola, niece: Emily Groves, nephew: James Branch and wife: Oleia, sister-in-law: Linda Burkholder and husband: Larry of Kokomo, IN.
She was preceded in death by her father and nephew: Ciffton Wayne Groves.

Karen worked as a hairdresser at the Vogue Beauty Salon and Chrisi's Cutting Corner for many years. She was a member of the Tuscola United Church of Christ. Karen graduated from Tuscola Community High School in 1977 and graduated from Lakeland Community College in Mattoon. Her greatest loves were taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
