Obituary
Karen Ann McGuire, 70, of Arcola, IL, formerly of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 5:15 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.
Graveside Services will be held immediately following the visitation at the St. Mary's Cemetery, rural Pesotum, IL.
Karen was born on July 20, 1946 in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Florentine "Florent" J. and Pauline M. Rund Ochs.
Survivors include her 3 sons: Patrick, David and Michael McGuire, brothers and sisters: Barbara (Robert) MacFarland of Columbus, OH, Gary Ochs and Dennis (Mary) Ochs both of Tuscola, Diana (Ed) Tunney of Chicago, Greg (Susie) Ochs of Tuscola, Brent Ochs (Tim O'Hare) of Chicago and Jeff (Yadi) Ochs of Forest Park, 8 nieces and nephews and 5 great-nieces and nephews.
Karen had worked at the Provena Covenant Medical Center Medical Records Department for over 25 years.
She graduated from Tuscola Community High School in 1964. After high school she attended two years of nursing school.
Karen was a caring and compassionate person who loved to be needed. She was a devoted caretaker to her father in his later years and they could often be seen out enjoying each other's company. She enjoyed all types of music including Frank Sinatra, Placido Domingo, Garth Brooks, and many others. She was an avid reader and puzzler. She played the piano and is rumored to have been an accordion player in her youth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Arcola Health Care Center Activity Fund, 422 E. 4th Street, Arcola, IL, 61910.
