Kandi L. Lane

Kandi L. Lane, 69, of rural Toledo, IL, passed away at 11:45 a.m., Sunday, October 4, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

 Kandi was born on August 20, 1957 in LaPorte, IN, the daughter of Ranno and Lillian Miller Evory. She married Terry E. Lane on September 8, 1973 in LaPorte, IN. He survives. 

Also surviving are her sons: Jason (Mindy) Lane of Tuscola and Jacob Lane of Toledo, granddaughters: Natalie Lane and Lexi Merriman, stepfather: Edward Gondeck, brothers; Karl Evory, Kevin Evory and Kelly Evory, sister: Kara Butcher and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her father and mother. 

Kandi was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her passion was the education of the horse industry, from equine sciences and healthcare, to showing and advancement in multiple disciplines. She was a past 4-H leader and coach of multiple IHSA collegiate equestrian teams. She was a member of multiple horse breeding associations, including AQHA and APHA, as well as several local horse-related organizations. She loved cooking, reading, hosting gatherings of family and friends, and spending time with her dogs.

Services will be held at a later date.
