Obituary

Judith D. "Judy" Kleiss Black, 63, of Tuscola, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior on her favorite holiday, Christmas Day at the family farm in rural Tuscola.

Judy was born on April 30, 1952 in Tuscola, IL, the daughter of Paul W. and Phyllis J. Patterson Kleiss. She married Todd Black on August 10, 1997 at the Walnut Grove Christian Church, rural Arcola, IL.

Judy retired from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL, where she worked as an assistant professor in the Physical Education Department. She received both her Bachelor and Master's degrees from EIU. Her teaching philosophy was "fitness is fun!"

Judy was a very loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a very strong Christian and a member of the Walnut Grove Christian Church. Judy was very athletic and competitive, she enjoyed running, aerobics, dancing and exercising. She enjoyed taking scenic drives with her husband, tinkering in her garden and had a love for horses. Judy's favorite thing was spending time with her children, grandchildren and all of her loved ones and friends. Her smile was contagious and everyone who knew her, loved her.

Survivors include her parents of Tuscola, husband, son: Antonio S. (Becky) Hyndman of Canton, TX and grandson: Emerson Hyndman of London, England, daughter: Jaime (Brett) Mitchell and grandson: Wade of New Braunfels, TX, sisters: Pam (Clark) Sprague and Kathleen (Gary) Campbell, sister-in-law: Carolyn Kleiss all of Tuscola, along with many other family and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her brother: Barry Kleiss

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Barney Wells officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the funeral home.
