Judith K. Hinton, 71, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 5:20 pm on Sunday February 27, 2011 at the Heartland Health Care, Champaign, IL following a courageous 4 year battle with cancer. Her family was by her side.
Judy was born in Decatur, IL on Nov. 24, 1939, the only child of Ralph L. and E. Eloise Albritton Hinton, whom preceded her in death. Judy graduated from Roosevelt High School in East Chicago IN. She received her LPN degree from Purdue University Extension and her RN degree from Parkland College. Judy worked in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Provena Hospital in Urbana for over 30 years. She loved taking care of her 'babies". For many years, Judy led the SHARE support group for parents who had lost an infant. One of Judy's greatest joys was cooking for and spending time with her family. Judy loved to cook and share recipes; she made cookbooks for many people. Judy was also a member of the Burgundy Babes Red Hat Society.
Judy is survived by her cousins and caregivers: Karen Hackett of Urbana, IL, Barbara (Harold) Coslet of Murdock, IL, Ellen (David) Lindsey of Urbana, IL, their son: Joseph Russell Lindsey, whom Judy was especially fond of, and many other cousins. She is survived by four aunts: Marcella Winkler and Alma Hammond both of Tuscola, IL, Mary Thompson of Shelby Twp., MI and Margaret Manley of Monroe, LA and many dear friends who were Judy's extended family.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Jim Hinton officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery.
