Joyce B. Berg, 66, of Tuscola, IL, formerly of Atwood, IL, passed away at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at her residence.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.

Private family graveside services will be held with Rev. Mike Drake officiating at the Mackville Cemetery, Atwood, IL.

Joyce was born on August 3, 1948 in Lafayette, IN, the daughter of Vernon and Eva Berneice Craig VanScyoc. She married Barry J. Berg on March 14, 1987 in Piatt County, IL. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2012.

Survivors include her mother: Eva Berneice VanScyoc of Mattoon, IL, daughters: Dawn Auten (Kevin Farson) and Peggy (Todd) Raney both of Tuscola, 5 grandsons: Vernon, Kyle, Anthony, Liam and Harrison, 5 step-grandchildren, brother: David (Angie) VanScyoc of Waukesha, WI and sister: Diana (Howard) Carman of Mattoon.

She was preceded in death by her father, daughter: Teresa Joyce Auten and grandson: Justin Lee Auten Brant.

Joyce was a homemaker. She and her husband Barry retired in 2010 to the mountains of Tennessee, which they both truly loved. She enjoyed having coffee with a wonderful group of friends each morning. Upon Barry's sudden death, Joyce returned to Tuscola to be closer to her family.

Joyce also enjoyed spending time with her dogs (Precious and Bear) as well as her grandchildren and her adopted grandkids: Adam, Kathy, Joe and Elissa.

Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the family.
