Joy Lou Webb Ducker, 83, of Mattoon, formerly of Arthur, died at 9:58 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Palm Terrace of Mattoon.
Joy was born March 2, 1941 in Decatur, the daughter of Harold and Rachel Anderson Kingery. She married Kenneth Ducker on February 14, 1959; she then married Eugene Webb on October 29, 1988; he preceded her in death on February 21, 2006; she remarried Kenneth Ducker on June 9, 2006; and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2017.
Survivors include her daughter, Melody (Kevin) Hovious of Mattoon; 2 sons, Kenneth Ducker II of Lake City, Florida; Johny Arthur of Mattoon; brother, Jerry (Beverly) Kingery of Arthur; 9 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 grandsons, Christopher Bohannan and Kenneth Ducker III; 2 brothers, Robert and Thomas Kingery.
Joy graduated from Atwood High School and then attended Lakeland School of Nursing and graduated with a LPN Nursing Degree in 1964. She worked at the Arthur Home and also the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home in Mattoon, retiring in 2007. She was previously a member of the First Apostolic Church of Arthur.
Joy loved gardening and was an accomplished artist, her paintings cherished by family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Pastor Gawain Bevis officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
