Obituary

Josephine Ann Dukeman Portwood, 77, of Bement, IL, passed away at 5:20 P.M. Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the Arthur Home, Arthur, Illinois.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL with the Rev. Don Gerkin officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood, IL.

Mrs. Portwood was born on April 16, 1931 in Atwood, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Mildred Utsler Wilcoxen. She married Russell R. "Bob" Dukeman on September 10, 1949 in Atwood, IL. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1991. She then married Frank "Bus" Portwood on April 17, 1993 in Hammond, IL. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2004.

Survivors include: 2 Sons: Russ Dukeman and wife: Sherry of Tolono, IL, Joe Dukeman and wife: Karen of Atwood, IL, 1 Daughter: Cheryl Franks and husband: John of Sidney, IL, 3 Sisters: Marilyn Birch of Atwood, IL, Sue Davis of Tuscola, IL, Theresa Yakley of Decatur, IL, 9 Grandchildren: Heather (Mike) Miller, Kyle (Colleen) Kappes, Gretchen Feldman, Whitney Crispen, Alyssa Dukeman, Logan Dukeman, Kaleigh Dukeman, Kindsey Dukeman and Cassi Portwood, 9 Great-Grandchildren: Jacob and Catherine Miller, Luke and Matthew Kappes, Colton, Madiline and Payton Feldman, Alonna and Anthony Crispen, Step-Son: Charles "Chuck" Portwood and wife: Jenny of Decatur, IL, Step-Daughter: Candy Wells and husband: Dennis of Bement, IL, 4 Step-Grandchildren: Jeff Wells, Joy Crowley, Kaley Lambert and Shannon Holzinger, 3 Step-Great-Grandchildren: Josh and Jerod Wells and C.J. Holzinger

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a homemaker and a farmers wife: She attended the Lake Fork United Church of Christ and the Hammond United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Home Extension and she was a Demolay mother. She and her husband were very active in the Masonic Lodge Organization.

Memorials are suggested to Arthur Home or the Atwood Volunteer Fireman's Association.
