Jonathan M. "John" Ray, 86, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 8:35 p.m., Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, IL
Funeral and Masonic Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Sandoval, IL with military graveside rites accorded.
John was born on June 29, 1925 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Jonathan M. and Effie M. Pike Ray. He married Helen L. Rhynes on October 17, 1947 in Salem, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include his children: David Ray of Centralia, IL, Danny Ray and wife: Tami of Tuscola, IL, Vicky Feeney and husband: Billy of Overton, NV, Johnnie Ray of Centralia, IL and Tom Ray and wife: Deb of Tuscola, IL, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother: Darrell Bus Ray and son-in-law: Richard Cothron.
He retired from Gordon's Trucking Company. He was a World War II US Army Veteran. John was a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge, Tuscola Elk's Club, Centralia Masonic Lodge #201, AF& AM and the Centralia VFW Post #2055.
