John L. Pugsley, 89, of Decatur, formerly of Arthur, passed away at 8:01
a.m., Thursday, October 19, 2023 at his residence.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023
at the Arthur Cemetery, Arthur, IL with Rev. Doug Lowery officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday at the Shrader Funeral
Home, 431 South Vine Street, Arthur, IL

John was born on September 1, 1934 in Arthur, the son of Homer and
Geneva Robinson Pugsley. He married Dorothy B. Price Mitchell on May 17,
1975 in Arthur. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2012.

Survivors include his son: Mark (Nan) Mitchell of TN, daughter: Marcia
(Bob) Beckett of Mt. Zion, grandchildren: Courtney Beckett of Decatur,
Douglas and Daniel Mitchell of TN, great-grandchildren: Brianna May, Kyle
Aubert, Kolton Beckett, MacKayle Mitchell, Tori Thomas, Melody Mitchell,
Anderson Thomas, Mazey Mitchell, Christopher Hooker, Kaedence Hooker
and Mason Mitchell, great-great-grandchildren: Willow, Freya, Fallon and
a boy on the way: Kaysen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter: Cristin Thomas
who passed away in 2019 and sister: Nancy Pugsley who passed away in
1953.

John served his country as a member of the US Army in Germany. He
retired from the US Post Office in Arthur where he worked as a city mail
carrier for many years. John was an avid Fighting Illini and Chicago Cubs
fan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer
Society.
