John F. Hill, 80, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 7:16 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen, Tuscola, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the church with Fr. Angel Sierra as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.

Mr. Hill was born May 23, 1936 in Mattoon, IL, the son of Frank and Anna Vollmer Hill. He married Mary E. Finn on September 8, 1962 in Arcola, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include his daughters: DeAnn (John) Brookins, Lori (Russ) Anderson; Janet (Mike) Murphy and Shelly (Joe) Ludwig; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a niece and a nephew.

John graduated from Mattoon High School in 1954. He served in the US Army for 3 years. John retired from Cabot in 1993. He later enjoyed driving for Mooney Ford for over 20 years. John loved spending time at his Mattoon Lake house, were he worked while everyone else played. He loved his family and loved seeing everyone together enjoying life.
