John C. Hackett, 68, of Garrett, IL, passed away at 7:09 pm, Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL
John was born on February 24, 1946 in Marysville, CA, the son of Gene and Charlotte Croch Hackett. He married Nancy E. Harvey on January 6, 1973. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter: Jenny Hackett of Garrett, IL, step-daughter: Tammy Dillow of Arthur, IL, 6 grandchildren: Holly, Kody, Hailee, Mackenzie, Adam and Sabon and great-grandson: Keagan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, step-son: Chad Lynn and a half-brother.
John was a retired truck driver. Upon retiring, he stayed home to attend the "night fires". John served in the US Marine Corps. He was a loving husband, father and hands on grandpa.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Atwood, IL has been entrusted with the arrangements.
