Joan Yvonne Kellogg, 74, of Arthur, Illinois, passed away at 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at First Apostolic Church of Arthur, 320 Surrey Lane, Arthur, Illinois. Burial service will follow in Arthur Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, Illinois.

Joan was born on December 19, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond “Bud” and Lois (Colyer) Burchyett. She married John Kellogg on June 3, 1972, in McClure, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, John Kellogg of Arthur, Illinois; two sons, Rev. David Kellogg and his wife, Hannah, of Vandalia, Illinois, and John Daniel Kellogg and his wife, Janice, of Arthur, Illinois; one daughter, Elizabeth Yvonne Kellogg of Arthur, Illinois; two brothers, Terry Burchyett and his wife, Rhonda, of Franklin, Tennessee, and Mark Burchyett and his wife, Janet, of Buckeye, Arizona; one sister, Sheri Moses and her husband, Rev. Robert Moses, of Tallinn, Estonia in Northern Europe; seven grandchildren (who she adored), Christina, Drew, Luke, Lily, Noah, Chloe, and Charlie Kellogg; and her sister-in-law, Audrey Burchyett of Bonner Springs, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Brad Burchyett, and her sister, Gloria Merriman.

Joan earned her bachelor’s and master's degrees in education from Eastern Illinois University and completed an additional 16 hours of graduate-level coursework. She devoted 20 years to teaching fourth grade at Arcola Elementary School, where she impacted the lives of countless students through her dedication, encouragement, and love of learning. Joan also faithfully served many years alongside her husband in pastoral ministry in the United States and Germany.

Joan loved to bake and write poetry. She especially treasured spending time with her family and had a special love for the holidays. She was also a faithful member of Faithworks Church in Charleston, Illinois.
