Jimmy I. Reed, 85, of Tuscola, IL passed away at 12:57 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with military rites accorded.

Mr. Reed was born May 27, 1931 in Centralia, IL, the son of Carl and Irene White Reed. He married Shirley Lescalleet on December 1, 1951 in Robinson, IL. She survives.

He is also survived by his 4 sons: Randy Reed of Syracuse, NY; Rick (Sandi) Reed of Goreville, IL; Johnny (Tereza) Reed of Celebration, FL and Scott (Traci) Reed of Tuscola, IL; 9 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Bill Reed.

Jimmy worked as a chemical operator at Quantum-USI Chemical Company for 39 years, retiring in 1994. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during the Korean War. Jimmy was a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge. He loved walleye fishing, hunting and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the John Wayne Cancer Institute: 2200 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90404.
