Obituary
Jim M. Brannon, 80, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 8:49 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL
Memorial Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL.
Military and Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine, IL
Jim was born on August 28, 1934 in Palestine, IL, the son of Glen and Velma Shidler Brannon. He married Judy J. Dennis on October 5, 1956 in Franklin, TN. She survives.
Also surviving are his son Dennis (Joelle) Brannon of Charlottesville, VA, daughter Balery Cooper of Tuscola, grandchildren Amanda "Dani" (Matt) Conner of Camargo and Ryan Brannon of Tampa, FL, great-grandchildren Lily Ann Lawrence, Caitlin Conner and Coby James Conner, brothers John Brannon of Hutsonville, IL and Randy Brannon of Palestine, IL, sister Sally Gunn of Palestine, IL
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Jerry Brannon
Jim retired in 1994 from USI-Quantum Chemical Company in Tuscola, where he worked in maintenance for 37 years. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. Jim was a life member of the VFW and an avid mushroom hunter.
