Obituary
Jewell Catherine Dorjahn, 81, of Arthur, died at 4:02 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Heritage
Health in Mt. Zion.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Friday, February 21, 2014 at Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street, Arthur, with Rev. Dawn Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Jewell was born May 23, 1932 in Hominy, Oklahoma, the daughter of Bert and Catherine Russell Blower.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Kirkland of Hammond; grandson, Jeremy Kirkland of Dalton City; great grandson, Justin Kirkland of Dalton City; and sister, Louise Rigg of Lovington. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Ziegler.
Jewell attended Eastern Illinois Teachers College in Charleston. She had worked at Schrock Cabinets for 15 years and also as a clerk at Odum Seed in Arthur. She was a member of the Vine Street Christian Church and the Arthur American Legion Auxiliary. Jewell enjoyed garage sales and auctions and loved watching her grandson and great grandson play baseball.
