Jerry A. Welch, 59, of Arthur, IL, formerly of Atwood, IL, passed away at 11:05 A.M., Friday, March 2, 2007 at the Eastview Terrace, Sullivan, IL
Funeral Services will be held at 10 A.M., Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Sunday, March 4, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Arthur Cemetery, Arthur, IL.
Mr. Welch was born on May 9, 1947 in Paris, IL, the son of Loren D. and Mary Ann Borntreger Welch. He married Karel L. Babb on December 29, 1973 in Arthur, IL. She survives.
Other survivors include: His parents of Arthur, IL, 2 Sons: Jeremy Welch and wife: Stacy of Atwood, IL, Jared Welch of Arthur, IL, 2 Brothers: Larry Welch of Arthur, IL, Barry Welch of Arcola, IL, 2 Grandchildren: Shalynn & Logan.

Mr. Welch retired in 2000 from Caterpillar in Decatur, IL, where he worked as a welder for 34 1/2 years. He was a member of the UAW Local #751 and the Charleston Elks Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a very skilled handyman and he enjoyed coaching his son's ball games and attending their school activities.
