Jerry Ross Rund, 80, of rural Tuscola, IL, passed away at 1:20 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola, IL with Father Angel Sierra and Father Aloysius Okey Ndeanaefo as celebrants.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the church.

A Private Family Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, rural Pesotum, IL. Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, Tuscola, IL is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Jerry was born on September 7, 1936 in Tuscola, IL, the son of George and Wilma Ross Rund. He married Phyllis Jane Cler on November 23, 1961 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, Tuscola, IL. She survives.

Other survivors include his sons: Ross Martin Rund of Arcola, Aaron Michael (Lori) Rund of Plymouth, MI, daughter: Kalah Ann Rund (George) Apgar of Champaign, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother: William Richard "Dick" Rund and niece: Kathleen "Kathy" Rund.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Villa Grove School District, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Hands-4-Paws.

Jerry farmed in the Villa Grove area for many years prior to his retirement. He graduated from Villa Grove High School in 1954. Jerry served on the Villa Grove School Board for several years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Tuscola Moose Lodge and the Tuscola Co-op.

He served with the US Army reserves for 6 years. Jerry really loved his dog, Poo.
