Jerome H. "Jerry" Johnson, 84, of Monticello, formerly of Arthur, passed away at 4:27 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024, at Kirby Medical Center, Monticello, Illinois.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Lewis Cemetery, rural Tuscola, IL, with Rev. Kenneth Roedder officiating.

Jerry was born April 1, 1940, in Paxton, the son of Herbert and Arlys Johnson. He married Alice R. Dallas on February 21, 1965, in Tuscola, IL. She preceded him in death on November 18, 2019.

He is survived by his son: Jeff Johnson of Monticello, a daughter: Jaleigh Johnson and husband Tim Combes of Monticello; a brother: Allan Johnson of Collinsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Judith Brothers.

Jerry and his wife owned and operated Johnson Tax and Accounting for many years. He loved to travel and was an avid reader. He enjoyed working in the garden, fishing, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Jerry served as the Lowe Township Clerk for over 30 years.
