Jeanine Ellen Andres, 80, of Tuscola, passed away at 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2026 at the Haven of Tuscola.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 1, 2026 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street, Tuscola, IL with Pastor Terri Smith officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Tuscola Township Cemetery.

Jeanine was born on November 2, 1945 in Champaign, the daughter of John E. and Phyllis D. Brewer Houser. She was married to Roger E. Ponder from 1968 to 1994. She married Frank A. Andres on October 19, 1996. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2007.

A lifelong bookkeeper, she kept books for her father at his various businesses from 1960 until 2011 and she prepared taxes in the 80's.

Jeanine was employed at Phil Lamb Inc. as a bookkeeper from 1993 until her retirement in 2016.

She is survived by her son: Roger W. (Heidi) Ponder of Monticello, daughter: Tina (Don) Lidy of Effingham, grandchildren: Courtney (Brandon) Locker, Cody Ponder, Christopher West and Brandon West, great-granddaughter: Nora Locker, brother: Allan Houser of Royse City, TX and sister: Rheana (Glenn) Merrell of Ball Ground, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister-in-law: Betty Houser.

Jeanine was a 1964 graduate of Tuscola Community High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and ranked in the top 5 percent of the nation on her college entrance exams. She enjoyed being creative through sewing, quilting, and cross-stitching. Jeanine enjoyed watching Hallmark and western movies and taking care of plants.

Memorials are suggested to the Tuscola Peace Meal Program.
