Jean Dunagan, 91, of Arcola died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Arcola United Methodist Church, 121 S. Locust Street, Arcola, with Rev. Jeff Van Dyke officiating. Burial will follow in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust Street, Arcola.

Jean was born November 12, 1925 in Tuscola, the daughter of Jim and Myra Wilfong Claar.  She married George Dunagan on January 25, 1947 in Henderson, Kentucky.

She is survived by her husband, George Dunagan of Arcola; 4 children, Douglas Dunagan and wife Linda of Mattoon; Connie Shrader and husband Stephen of Arcola; Cindy Marrs and husband Danny of Kansas; Darryl Dunagan and wife Gerie of Arcola; 6 grandchildren, Chris (James) Fishel of Arcola; Curt Dunagan of Boston, Massachusetts; Stephanie (Ryan) Cady of Cincinnati, Ohio; Danielle (Gregg) Hilgenberg of Arcola; Lindsay (Mike) Liberatore of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin; Leslie Dunagan (Robert Rardin) of Tuscola; 6 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Eugene Rothrock of Arcola; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eva and Van Anderson of Arcola; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Jean graduated from Effingham High School in 1944.  She retired from Collegiate Cap & Gown after working there from 1965 until 1983. She attended the Arcola United Methodist Church until her health prevented her from doing so.  She was a past member of the Mattoon Eagles Club.

She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed all of the activities of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
