Jean Chambers, 92, of Pierson Station, IL, passed away at 1:15 p.m., January 14, 2025 at the Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Private Family Services will be held.

Jean was born on August 5, 1932 in Moweaqua, IL, the daughter of Hal and Alma Gregory Weakly. She married Daniel D. Chambers on December 26, 1951 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2023.

Survivors include her children: Sue (Lee) Volk of Newton, Carol (Glen) Myers of Atwood, Dino Chambers of Bakersfield, CA and Don (Laura) Chambers of rural Urbana, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, brother: Lloyd Weakly of Nebraska and sister: Jennett Fair of Lovington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 grandson and 3 granddaughters.

Jean graduated from Lovington High School where she was voted Homecoming Queen. She worked at Four Seasons Clothing Store in Tuscola for several years. Jean was also a farm wife and loved being a mother. She enjoyed collecting bottles and arrowheads and going to Colorado on vacations. Jean was a member of the Atwood First Baptist Church.

Memorials contributions may be made to the Atwood First Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
