Jean Bryson

M. Jean Bryson, 91, of Atwood, passed away at 9:35 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2026 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello, IL

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, IL with Rev. Gawain Bevis officiating. Burial will follow at the Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood, IL.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jean was born on February 22, 1935 in Tuscola, the daughter of John M. and Edna I. Busick McHenry. She married Ray E. Jamison on April 2, 1954 at Covington, IN. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1970. She then married Wayne L. Bryson, Sr. on January 1, 1972. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2001.

Survivors include her sons: Jim (Teresa) Jamison of Urbana, Bob Jamison of Atwood, Russell (Rhonda) Jamison of Atwood and daughter: Laurie (Kirk) Birch of Bement, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, stepdaughters: Ruanita Mayhall, Terri Golish and Cathy Boozer, stepson: Wayne Bryson, Jr., and cousin, John (Tammy) Crane of Bloomington, Indiana.

She was preceded in the death by her parents, son-in-law: Doug Sapp, daughter-in-law: Elisa Jamison and brother; Jack McHenry.

Jean was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Apostolic Church of Arthur, where she enjoyed playing keyboards for the church services.
