J.C. Brown, 74, of Tuscola, formerly of Atwood, passed away at 8:45 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 66 East US Highway 36, Atwood, with Pastor James Bolt officiating. Burial will follow in the Lake Fork Cemetery, rural Atwood.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

J.C. was born on July 19, 1948 in Haydenburg, TN, the son of William Troy and Loma Kirby Brown.

Survivors include his daughters: Shawna (Gary) Barber of Charleston, IL, Marla (John) Grenfell of Woodbridge, VA, Angela (Taylor) Bennett of Mardela Springs, MD, grandchildren: Jessica Yost, Ariel Grenfell, Jordan Grenfell, Kamyla Grenfell, Makaila Bennett, Hailea Bennett and Jaslyn Bennett, great-grandson: Dale Gibson, brothers: Prentice Brown, Gerald Brown and Neal (Renee) Brown all of Atwood, sisters: Juda Frahm of Windsor and Lavonne (Dr. Robert Brunner) Brunner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Anna Greve, brother-in-laws: Charlie Greve and Errol Frahm and nephews: Wes and Travis Barrow.

J.C. was an owner/operator truck driver for 20 years. He retired from Oye Trucking in Tuscola. He loved going to farm and truck shows and watching Andy Griffith and Gunsmoke.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
