Janice Gail Shaffer, 74, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 9:55 a.m., Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Tuscola Health Care Center, Tuscola, IL

Celebration of Life Services will be 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Hilligoss Shrader Funeral Home, 705 South Main Street Tuscola, IL with Rev. Joe Carter officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017 in the Herrin City Cemetery, Herrin, IL.

Janice was born on May 11, 1942 in Columbus, IN, the daughter of Victor and Mary Maxine Veach Barger.

Survivors include her son: Andy Lee Shaffer of Tuscola and daughter: Ann Marie Shaffer Rishel of Markleysburg, PA, 3 grandchildren: Tia, Kami and Austin; 2 great-grandchildren: Braden and Kinadi; sister: Rose (Jim) May; half-brother: Jim; 2 half-sisters: Vicki and Debbie; brother-in-law: Danny Matthews and sister-in-law: Rena (Don) Cain.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Julia Ross

Janice worked at Monical's Pizza in Tuscola for 27 years. She previously worked at Liga's restaurant and Littlefuse. She was a member of the Tuscola Moose Lodge. Janice was a huge Tom Jones fan. She enjoyed dancing and visiting with her many friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Tuscola Health Care Center Activity Fund.
