Janice M. Nayonis, 77, of Tuscola, IL, passed away at 6:17 a.m., Monday, October 7, 2013 at her residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday. October 9, 2013 at the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, 201 East Van Allen Street, Tuscola, IL with Father Delix Michel officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the Tuscola Township Cemetery, Tuscola, IL.

Mrs. Nayonis was born July 13, 1936 in Madison, WI, the daughter of Robert and Ellen Bowes Anderson. She married Clarence Anthony Nayonis on August 17, 1957 in Loves Park, IL. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2000.

Janice is survived by her son: James Nayonis of Urbana, IL, daughter: Julie (Bob) Slaughter of Tuscola, IL, daughter-in-law: Tracy Nayonis of Monticello, IL, grandchildren: Thomas and Chloe Nayonis of Monticello, IL, Kaley and Kelsey Slaughter of Tuscola, IL, sister: Judy (Thomas) Adams of Aurora, IL; brother-in-law: Richard Nayonis of Rockford, IL and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons: Robert and Thomas Nayonis and a daughter: Karen Nayonis.

Janice was a homemaker. She was a member of the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church. Janice loved volunteering with the after school reading program and MOPS. She enjoyed bowling, working crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble and gardening. Janice loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Memorials donations may be made to: Help-A-Child Fund at the Tuscola Community School District #301, Forty Martyrs Catholic Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
